The park
Despite its imposing structure, the Castle of Valverde is not visible from the road running below because it is surrounded and sheltered by a thick variegated vegetation. It is a park of uncommon beauty: there is a large number of essences, from willow trees to cypresses and from magnolias to conifers.
Furthermore, there is a thick bush of bamboo canes that takes the visiting guest from the guestrooms to the main building. The interesting guestrooms house is ascribed to the famous architect Giacomo Quarenghi and it is the only work of this artist in Bergamo because he used to work in Pietroburgo. It is to be restored in the near future.
On the whole the area of appurtenance is about 35,000 square metres.
On the western side there is a rectangular Italian garden of about 200 square metres that is bounded by hedges of box. Then there are about 400 square metres of some more garden areas with stone columns, rose-bushes and a pergola that surround the main building on the other two sides.
